Adafruit PCF8523 RTC Assembled Breakout Board
$8.95
This is a simple little real time clock (RTC) breakout board based on the PCF8523 chipset. The breakout allows your microcontroller project to keep track of time even if it is reprogrammed, or if the power is lost. It is perfect for datalogging, clock-building, time stamping, timers and alarms, etc. This new version of the board now includes STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors making this easier than ever to use!

Description
The PCF8523 is a simple, low cost, real time clock (RTC) chip. Unlike the fancier (and much more expensive) RTCs out there, this chip is not temperature compensated and may lose or gain up to 2 seconds a day. If you need a more accurate RTC we do recommend looking at the DS3231 instead.
Please Note: This breakout uses a CR1220 battery. Due to shipping regulations, a battery is not included
