Servo motors are commonly found in most RC cars, trucks, planes, and helicopters – but these useful motors are also perfect for general robotics and tinkering as well! A servo motor is essentially a small DC motor, gearbox, potentiometer, and motor controller all stuffed into an easy to mount package. Generally these motors are used in situations where something needs to be moved back and forth or rotate less than ~180 degrees.
