BC Robotics is now on Discord!

Discord can be thought of as a modern take on IRC chat with a little bit of Internet Bulletin Board / Forum thrown in. It has traditionally been most popular in Esports and gaming – but it is a great way to connect groups with similar interests.

We have started a server to share projects, chat with likeminded individuals, and better engage with the maker community – so stop by, hang out, talk shop, ask a question, or see what everyone else is up to!

New Product Roundup – May 25th

Happy Saturday! It was a short week here with the Victoria Day holiday last Monday – but we still have four new additions to showcase and a new product of the week for today’s New Product Roundup. Lets get to it!

New Products
First up today we have we have another super handy parts assortment – this one is full of different multiturn potentiometers. These are breadboard / perfboard friendly and are great for prototyping. Next up, we have another variation of our Dupont connector housings. This version has 9 pins and works with the standard Dupont male and female crimp connectors. We also added a new hobby knife set; these are ideal for trimming plastic, thin wood, removing electrical tape, and heat shrink tubing. Each set includes 5 extra blades. Finally, we have had a lot of requests for a smaller “project sized” soldering / rework mat; this measures 23 x 18 cm / 9 x 7″ – big enough for most projects.

New Product Roundup – May 18th

Welcome back to a holiday weekend edition of our New Product Roundup! This week we added several new products to go over, but first a quick reminder: We are closed on Monday for the Victoria Day holiday.

New Products
This week we have 8 new products to share! First up we have another version of momentary tactile button with removable cap. This version is also breadboard compatible and features a square button cap. Next up we added four different versions of a nice On/Off 16mm backlit pushbutton. These are IP65 and latch on/off. We also added two new Dupont connector housings – a 6 pin and 8 pin version for more custom cable creation. And lastly, a 4 x 18650 battery holder. This battery holder connects each battery in series and provides a nominal voltage of 14.8V

New Product Roundup – May 11th

It’s Saturday and that means we are back with another New Product Roundup! This week we have five new items in the catalogue, a new tutorial, and a new Product Of The Week with 50% Off! Let’s go have a look!

New Products
New to the catalogue this week: We have a giant anodized aluminum heatsink measuring 40x40mm. Coincidently these are the exact same size as our Peltier elements – naturally, we had a bit of fun with fans and heatsinks seeing just how cold we could get a Peltier to go. In the Arduino category we released a new prototyping board for the Arduino Mega family of boards – the DevMega is designed here at BC Robotics and is a combination of solderable breadboard / Arduino Mega shield with a few solder jumpers to make things easier. Next up, was a snappy round On/Off button – these latching buttons are similar to the type you find in large flashlights and have large solderable tabs. We also added a new GT2 Idler Pulley – these have press fit bearings and are ideal for belt tensioners and idlers. Finally, we now have a 3 x 18650 battery pack. These take 18650 lithium batteries and connect three in series to provide a voltage of approximately 11.1V
