What a great day – students from the VIU First Year Engineering Program were out presenting their bridge projects today. The goal of the project was to build a prototype bridge that would be a suitable replacement for the Portal Rail Bridge spanning the Hackensack River in Northeastern New Jersey.

First year engineering students at Vancouver Island University (VIU) are building model bridges with popsicle sticks to test their design skills – and now they want the public to help choose a winner.

The Easter holiday is upon us! We will be closed Friday April 3rd and Saturday April 4th for the holiday weekend.

Orders placed online after 2:00 PM on Thursday April 2nd will ship Tuesday April 7th as there is no Canada Post service on Good Friday or Easter Monday.

Today, Saturday March 28th, is Arduino day! We will be closing up the office this afternoon and hosting Arduino Day at Makerspace Nanaimo. The event begins at 1:00 PM and runs until 3:00 PM. Come on down and check out Arduino projects, ask questions, or share your own project!
