New Product Roundup – August 31st

Hello, and welcome back to another holiday weekend edition of our New Product Roundup. The Labour Day Weekend is sort of the unofficial end of summer – but it isn’t all bad – it also means project season is upon us. We are getting geared up with a bunch of exciting new stuff over the next few weeks so stay tuned for that!

New Products
In the mean time, we have four new additions to the catalogue to share this week. First up is a 4.2hHz Piezo Element – these are great for detecting a vibration or knock and can also be used as a small buzzer. Next up is a new version of 9x9mm heatsink – these have 3M Thermal Tape applied to the back, so all you need to do is peel and stick these to whatever you want to help cool. Third on the list is a 30mm Three Blade propeller – these fit a 2mm shaft. Finally, we have a new 4 wheel drive robot chassis. This chassis is made from laser cut acrylic and is easy to assemble.

Product Of The Week – 25% Off!
Product of the Week is our Trimpot Potentiometer Kit – 100 pcs. This kit contains 100 trimpots ranging from 500 Ohm to 1M Ohm in a segmented plastic case. 25% Off until Friday at midnight – so don’t miss out!

Piezo Element – 4.2kHz

A Piezo element comes in handy when you need to detect vibration or a knock. This sensor measures 27mm in diameter and just 0.45mm thick. You can use these for tap or knock sensors pretty easily by reading the voltage on the output.

9 x 9mm Heat Sink

Any high power motor driver, linear voltage regulator, or other SOC will get hot when pushed to its limits – a heatsink will help dissipate heat and keep things running cool. These heatsinks measure 9 x 9mm x 5mm and include adhesive thermal tape on the back. This tape will help keep the heatsink in place and improve the transfer of heat from the chip to the aluminum of the heatsink.

30mm Three Blade Propeller – Yellow

This Three Blade 30mm generic fan/propeller works great for moving air or water. Use it to build your next miniature hovercraft, boat, or just to make your DC motor less boring! The propeller is designed to fit on a 2mm shaft and will work with most small DC hobby motors we stock.

4WD Robot Chassis – Blue

This four wheel robot chassis is perfect for experimenting with four-wheel drive. Each of the wheels is attached to its own motor, meaning you can control each individual wheel speed and direction. The kit is easy to assemble and offers plenty of mounting points for your microcontroller, sensors, and other additions.
