New Product Roundup – July 13th

Its Saturday, and with that, we are back with another New Product Roundup! We have five new products to showcase and a new Product of the Week at 25% Off.

New Products
First up we have another shaft coupler – this time with bores of 0.250” on one end and 5mm on the other. These are ideal for connecting our NEMA23 stepper motor to 5mm shafts. Next, we have a new board designed and built here at BC Robotics: our ultrasonic:bit! The ultrasonic:bit is designed to simplify the connection of an ultrasonic sensor to the BBC micro:bit. The board handles powering the sensor, logic level shifting, and ships fully assembled! Finally, we have three new toggle switches. These large switches have a strong throw and are available in DPST (On/Off), SPDT (On/Off/On), and DPDT (On/Off/On). All three versions are rated to 15A/125VAC and 10A/250VAC.

Product Of The Week – 25% Off!
Product of the week is our Arduino Experiment Kit – a great assortment of 475 prototyping parts, sensors, and buttons in a convenient storage case. These kits are 25% off until next Friday at midnight – so don’t miss out!

Aluminum Flex Shaft Coupler – 0.250″ to 5mm

Need to connect two shafts together? This flex coupler has a helical cut that allows two shafts that are not perfectly aligned to be joined together while reducing binding. This specific version is designed to couple a 1/4” shaft to a 5mm shaft.

ultrasonic:bit Distance Sensor

Using a low cost ultrasonic distance sensor with the BBC micro:bit is a little tricky. Most of these sensors require 5V to work correctly (which isn’t available on the micro:bit) and when they are powered with 5V, they return a 5V signal which can damage your micro:bit! The ultrasonic:bit solves both these issues and makes it easy to measure distance with the BBC micro:bit. The board ships fully assembled with an ultrasonic sensor. Simply connect up your wires or alligator clips and that’s it!

DPST Toggle Switch – On/Off

This panel mount dual pole single throw (DPST) toggle switch is rated at up to 15A and 125VAC / 10A 250VAC. The switch is a standard On-Off configuration and includes all hardware. DPST switches feature two independent On/Off switches toggled by the same physical toggle – meaning you can switch two different voltages at the same time. Connections to the switch are by way of small screw terminals.

SPDT Toggle Switch – On/Off/On

This panel mount single pole dual throw (SPDT) toggle switch is rated at up to 15A and 125VAC / 10A 250VAC. The switch is a three position On-Off-On configuration and includes all hardware. Three position SPDT switches feature a single contact that can be connected to either output pin or disconnected in the center position. Connections to the switch are by way of small screw terminals.

DPDT Toggle Switch – On/Off/On

This panel mount dual pole dual throw (DPDT) toggle switch is rated at up to 15A and 125VAC / 10A 250VAC. The switch is an On-Off-On configuration and includes all hardware. DPDT switches feature two independent DPST switches toggled by the same physical toggle – meaning you can switch two different circuits at the same time with one switch. Connections to the switch are by way of small screw terminals.
