New Product Roundup – August 19th to August 25th

Happy Saturday! We are back with another New Product Roundup for the week of August 19th to 25th! Five more additions to the shop this week – a new Panel Volt Gauge, breadboard compatible “AA” Battery Holders for single and pairs of AA batteries, a wired single “AA” Battery Holder, and an awesome new Accelerometer breakout board from Adafruit.

Before we have a closer look at the new stuff; Product of the week is XTC 3D Print Smoother. This is a brush on protective coating for smoothing and finishing 3D printed parts that does not melt plastic. The coating fills in 3D print striations and creates a smooth, high gloss finish. 15% Off Until Friday at Midnight!

Alright – let’s go have a look at these great new products!

2 x AA Battery Case – Breadboard Compatible

Battery holders come in all sorts of shapes and varieties. These 2 x “AA” battery holders are a bit interesting because they have PC pins (for soldering into circuit boards) rather than the standard wire leads you see on most. The nice thing about these PC Pins is that they happen to work quite well in Solderless Breadboards and Perfboards / Protoboards. No more wire running to your battery case!

Panel Mount Volt Meter – Red (0-30V)

Panel volt meters are an excellent way to monitor voltage without a multimeter. This three wire version of our popular gauges can be powered from a separate source from what it is monitoring. This allows the gauge to read right down to 0V without shutting off.

1 x AA Battery Case – Breadboard Compatible

We have been asked numerous times about 1 x AA Battery holders – well we now have them in two versions. These single “AA” battery holders are a bit interesting because they have PC pins (for soldering into circuit boards) rather than the standard wire leads you see on most.

1 x AA Battery Case – Basic

We also added a wired version of the single AA battery case. The case has 6” wire leads, red being positive and black being negative.

Adafruit LIS3DH Triple-Axis Accelerometer

The Adafruit LIS3DH breakout is a feature filled, low power, accelerometer that is configurable to several ranges of sensitivity. This accelerometer chipset is commonly found in a lot of commercial products so Adafruit has thrown together a convenient breakout board to test and experiment with it!
