New Product Roundup – June 10th to June 16th

Welcome back to another edition of our Saturday New Product Roundup! We have three new products available in the shop this week, including a Media Center version of our always popular Raspberry Pi Starter Kit with a new, lower, price! We also have a new (and strong!) N50 Rare Earth magnet, and a new JST-PH 2 pin male cable.

Before we have a look at each of these new products, just a quick note: With the Canada Day long weekend coming up we will be extending the weekend a little on each side so that we can all enjoy some time off. Our showroom will be closed between June 28th and July 4th, but online orders will continue to ship.

Alright, with that message out of the way – let’s go have a closer look at each of this week’s new products!

Raspberry Pi 3+ Media Kit

Since its introduction, the Raspberry Pi has made a great media center platform. As the Pi has become more and more powerful over the years, the user experience has only improved. The current Raspberry Pi 3+ is more than capable – with even more processing power, the Raspberry Pi 3+ provides a superior viewing experience and cut load times to almost nothing. Connectivity is a breeze – the Pi 3+ features improved Ethernet (up to 4x faster), USB, Bluetooth, and Dual Band Wifi! Watch movies or listen to music stored on a USB Flash Drive / Hard drive, on a local network, or stream directly from the internet.

10x10x10mm Rare Earth Magnet

Strong magnets can be very useful when making a non-contact switch or just holding something in place. These cube shaped “Rare Earth” magnets are made from Neodymium and measure 10mm cubed. These magnets are quite strong and should be handled with care. These are not toys, and therefore should be kept out of reach of children. Keep away from pacemakers, digital storage devices, mobile phones, and computers.

JST PH 2 Pin Cable – Male Conenctor

JST PH series connectors are incredibly popular – they are found on most single cell lithium polymer batteries, and because of that, many of today’s microcontrollers, battery chargers, and mobile electronics. This “male” cable works well for extending cables from batteries, or when paired with the “female” version, a compact 2 pin inline connection.
