New Product Roundup – May 27th to June 2nd

Welcome back to another edition of our New Product Roundup – the weekly update we provide summarizing what is new in the shop at BC Robotics. This week we have a few new additions, including a battery powered temperature gauge to keep tabs on that hot summer weather, a new two-wheel drive chassis perfect for building a driving robot, a set of fan gears, and a TO220 heatsink. We also have our MG90S miniature servos on as product of the week – 15% off until Friday at Midnight. Lets go have a quick look at each!

TO-220 Heatsink – 1W

This aluminum heatsink is designed for all integrated circuits using the TO-220 package. These are compatible with all of our basic linear voltage regulators, MOSFETS, and the TIP120 / TIP31C / TIP32C Darlington transistors. The heatsink is capable of dissipating approximately 1W and bolts directly to the back of the ICs; it should help keep them cool (or at least not as hot!).

Fan Gear Set – 3 Pieces

Fan gears can be used in a number of ways. A common example would be something needing a gear drive, but a full revolution is not required (ex. A gearmotor moving a robotic claw that can open and close). This set of 3 fan gears gives you a little variety in tooth count, shaft size, and tooth type – perfect to experiment with. The kit includes a standard 12 tooth fan gear, a crown 15 tooth, and a crown 21 tooth fan gear. These gears are compatible with our 75 piece Assorted Plastic Gear Set.

Basic 2 Wheel Drive Robot Chassis

This simple two wheel drive robot chassis is perfect for a first attempt at building a simple roaming robot. The kit is easy to assemble and offers plenty of mounting points for your microcontroller, sensors, and other additions. The laser cut chassis is made of two stacked clear acrylic 5.5” diameter discs, but For lower profile designs, this flexible chassis can be assembled without the top layer.

Panel Mount Digital Thermometer

Sometimes a simple temperature gauge is all that is needed. This gauge requires no external power, so there is no need to run wires. Simply pop the included batteries in and it will start displaying the temperature. The gauge can be panel mounted in a 46 X 27mm rectangular hole if desired. The temperature probe is waterproof and the wire extends approximately 1 meter from the gauge. Accuracy of the temperature measurement is +/- 1 degree with a resolution of 0.1 degree. The sensor will handle temperature ranges from -50 to 110 Celsius.
