New Product Roundup – March 25th to April 7th

We are back with another New Product Roundup! With last weekend being skipped due to the Easter Holiday, we have quite a bit to catch up on. Over the last two weeks we have added a couple new Arduino products from SparkFun including their new CANBUS/RS485 equipped microcontroller, a new I2C Clock Generator from Adafruit, some workbench accessories, and more!

Also, Good News for those looking for the New Raspberry Pi 3+, the backlog has been cleared and there is now stock available as per normal.

Lets jump in and have a closer look at each of the new products!

250K Ohm Breadboard Friendly Potentiometer

This very common 250K ohm linear potentiometer is designed to be mounted in an enclosure or panel. While the tabs on this pot are a little more difficult to solder wires to, they are spaced at 0.200″ making it breadboard compatible and perfect for prototyping on a solderless breadboard. The potentiometer is rated at 1/5W and has 300 degrees of rotation.

LilyPad Blue LED (5 pcs)

This is a simple pack of five Blue LilyPad LEDs that are still attached to one another, letting you snap the LEDs apart at your leisure to sew into clothing or whatever else you can dream up. LilyPad is a wearable e-textile technology developed by Leah Buechley and cooperatively designed by Leah and SparkFun. Each LilyPad was creatively designed to have large connecting pads to allow them to be sewn into clothing.

Adafruit Si5351A Clock Generator Breakout Board – 8KHz to 160MHz

Never hunt around for another crystal again, with the Si5351A clock generator breakout from Adafruit! This chip has a precision 25MHz crystal reference and internal PLL and dividers so it can generate just about any frequency, from ~8KHz up to 150+ MHz. It uses the onboard precision clock to drive multiple PLL’s and clock dividers using I2C instructions. By setting up the PLL and dividers you can create precise and arbitrary frequencies. There are three independent outputs, and each one can have a different frequency.

Ceramic Screwdriver – Phillips PH1.7 YR-034H

Ceramic screwdrivers are extremely useful to have around the workbench. These are specifically designed for tuning and adjusting electrically sensitive equipment as they are anti-static, non-conductive, and anti-magnetic.

SparkFun Weather Shield

This updated version of SparkFun’s Weather Shield is an easy to use Arduino shield that grants you access to barometric pressure, relative humidity, luminosity and temperature. There are also connections on this shield to optional sensors such as wind speed, direction, rain gauge and GPS for location and super accurate timing.

SparkFun AST-CAN485 Dev Board

The SparkFun AST-CAN485 Dev Board is a miniature Arduino in the compact form factor of the Pro Mini. In addition to all the usual features that a mini Arduino has, it possesses an onboard CAN (Control Area Network) and RS485 ports, enabling quick and easy interfacing to a multitude of industrial devices. The CAN485 Dev Board bridges the gap between the maker and industrial spaces!

51mm x 35mm Tinning Sponge

Has your tinning sponge seen better days? This is a replacement for the sponge included with our basic Soldering Iron Stand – so throw out that dirty old one! The sponge measures 51 x 35mm and expands when water is applied.
