New Product Roundup – March 26th to April 8th

Happy Saturday everyone! This week we have a larger than normal New Product Roundup due to last Saturday being Arduino Day – two whole weeks of new products to go through! We have a couple awesome Raspberry Pi Zero cases, fancy Mean Well power supplies, a few cables, and more! We have a lot to go through so let’s have a look:

2mm Flat Top Warm White LED

These warm white 2mm “Flat Top” LEDs have a very unique shape – the long barrel means they can be fit into a variety of different applications where a standard LED will not fit. Wires can be soldered to each leg, making these easy to wire into any model boat, train, plane, car, spaceship or whatever else you may want to add tiny lights to.

Test Clip to Banana Plug Set – Basic

Test clips are a must for any multimeter. These cables feature a standard banana plug on one end and a nice mini-grabber test clip on the opposite end. The mini-grabber is spring loaded and is ideal for holding onto small wires, larger integrated circuit legs, and various connector pins and tabs. We like these as they allow you to test with your multimeter and still have free hands!

Adafruit Pi Zero Case

This slim case for works with all versions of the Raspberry Pi Zero. The case is made of a tough polycarbonate material and has a nice transparent top. The Pi sits nicely in the base, latching to the corner pegs while a small tab holds it in place.

Official Raspberry Pi Zero Case

This is the first official Raspberry Pi Zero case released by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Just like the Pi 3 Official Case, this is the same raspberry red/pink and white and is just as configurable. The Pi Zero case ships with three different lids: A standard lid, A GPIO accessible lid, and a camera lid. The standard lid keeps all the connections accessible except the GPIO header, the GPIO lid has slot which allows access to the GPIO header without removing the lid, and the camera lid has a small hole for mounting either version of the Raspberry Pi Camera.

Adam Tech Wall Adapter Cable (NA)

These Adam Tech Wall Adapter Cables are terminated with a standard North American (NEMA 5–15P) plug at one end and three insulated spade terminal connectors at the other. Each cable is 1m long and provides a safe and appropriate way to hook up our Mean Well power supplies!

Mean Well Switching Power Supply – 5VDC, 20A

This 100 Watt switching power supply from Mean Well is extremely well built and very reliable. The supply is capable of up to 20A output at 5VDC from a variety of common AC input ranges. The supply features a durable metal casing, short circuit protection, overload protection, and overvoltage protection. The power supply can operate in air temperatures between 20°C to +60°C and only requires passive cooling. If you need a lot of reliable power, these are a great choice!

Mean Well Switching Power Supply – 12VDC, 12.5A

This 150 Watt switching power supply from Mean Well is extremely well built and very reliable. The supply is capable of up to 12.5A output at 12VDC from a variety of common AC input ranges. The supply features a durable metal casing, short circuit protection, overload protection, and overvoltage protection. The power supply can operate in air temperatures between 20°C to +60°C and only requires passive cooling. If you need a lot of reliable power, these are a great choice!

Load Cell – 10kg, Straight Bar (TAL220)

This straight bar load cell (sometimes called a strain gauge) can translate up to 10kg of pressure (force) into an electrical signal. Each load cell is able to measure the electrical resistance that changes in response to, and proportional of, the strain (e.g. pressure or force) applied to the bar. With this gauge you will be able to tell just how heavy an object is, if an object’s weight changes over time, or if you simply need to sense the presence of an object by measuring strain or load applied to a surface.
