We have just added another new tutorial to the website; a visual guide to assembling our Blinky Light Kit. The visual guide can be seen in the tutorials section!

Learn To Solder!

Have you ever wanted to learn to solder? Makerspace Nanaimo will be hosting a soldering workshop on July 25th, starting at 1pm. The cost is $6 for Makerspace members and $10 for everyone else; proceeds from the event go towards hosting future events at the Makerspace. All necessary tools and equipment will be provided, however you are more than welcome to bring your own. Slots may be limited, so be sure to sign up early by emailing soldering@makerspacenanaimo.org !

If geography limits that opportunity we do also offer the kits in our store and will have a full tutorial up on the site in the coming days!

Canada Day

Just a reminder: Tomorrow (July 1st) is Canada Day. Orders placed after 2:00 PM today will ship on Thursday July 2nd. Our showroom will be open Canada Day from 10AM – 4:00PM so if you are in the area feel free to stop by!

New Website Feature: Tutorials

The expansion into tutorials on the website is something that has been on the books for quite a while. We have wanted to offer tutorials that have been created with the products we provide to ensure they work just as expected while reducing the risk of any magic blue smoke (Wikipedia).

We have started off with a couple of basic tutorials and will be expanding this greatly over the next few months. Each tutorial will provide clear instructions through photographs, diagrams, and example code to get your project up and running with minimal frustration!

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to comment on each tutorial or get in touch directly!
