Arduino Night – February 25th @ 7:00 PM

Arduino night is back again this Wednesday February 25th! We will be officially we starting at 7:00 PM and as always there will be a selection of parts and accessories available on hand. Last Arduino night we had a great turnout – hopefully we see even more of you out this week!

What is an Arduino Night?
An Arduino night is a gathering of people interested in Arduino. At an Arduino night people tinker, collaborate, and learn together in a fun social atmosphere. At one table there may be a discussion about the best way to read multiple sensors and output the data to the web while at another table there may be a group working their way through the very basics of the Arduino Starter kit – there is always something for everyone!

Happy Monday!

Last week was an exciting week with the release of the new Raspberry Pi 2B. We are happy to say that any pre-orders placed last Monday (and for the most part Tuesday) will be shipping out this coming Wednesday, a few days earlier than expected! If you are still interested in picking up a Raspberry Pi 2B we do recommend pre-ordering as it is the best way to ensure you get one in the near future.

If you are looking to get a Raspberry Pi and do not need the newest model, we do have a few options available. The Raspberry Pi B+ and Raspberry Pi B+ with 8GB NOOBS are both on sale, and very capable. We also have the Raspberry Pi A+ back in stock, this version of the Pi will not be updated this year, and is great for low power applications.

The Pi 2 B – A much more powerful Raspberry Pi

Good news today for the Pi fans out there! There is a new (and much more powerful) version of the Raspberry Pi on its way very shortly. It has not been very long since the Model B+ was released, but finally the calls for more performance have been answered. The Pi 2B will remain compatible with all accessories for the B+ and, due to the processor upgrade, will also give you a few new operating system choices. We have these on order and do expect them in the next 10 business days.

What has changed?

  • A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU (~6x performance)
  • 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM (2x memory)
  • Complete compatibility with Raspberry Pi 1
  • Because it has an ARMv7 processor, it can run the full range of ARM GNU/Linux distributions, including Snappy Ubuntu Core, as well as Microsoft Windows 10.
  • Need to have it? Head on over to the product page to pre-order!
