New Product Roundup – July 16th to July 22nd

Welcome back to another weekly installment of our New Product Roundup! This week we are excited to announce a new Raspberry Pi HAT designed and built in house for a very cool Raspberry Pi Project, a new standoff, and another type of right angle breakaway header. Let’s go have a closer look!

2×40 Pin Breakaway Male Header – Right Angle

These breadboard compatible 0.100″ breakaway headers are typically what you would find with all of our breakout boards. Breakaway Headers are a great way to connect small perf-boards or breakout boards to a breadboard or other 0.100″ pitch board. The headers are made up of two rows of 40 pins with a 90 degree bend. They can easy be snapped apart to any length required and work well when a vertical header is not desired.

Replica AstroPi Switchboard

The Replica AstroPi Switchboard is an add-on board for the Raspberry Pi. This board is our contribution to the stunning replica Astro Pi Flight Case available from astropicase.com. We have made this board available separately for those wishing to 3D Print their own flight case or use this board for other Pi based projects. The switchboard features a PCF8523 Real Time Clock (RTC) with battery backup, 6 very tiny JST-ZR connectors (used for external momentary buttons on the flight case), and breaks out all of the remaining GPIO pins for those interested in using them. All pins are broken out to 0.100” pitch pads and work with a variety of different connectors.

4/40 x 3/8″ Standoff

Standoffs are used to mount circuit boards and other parts inside of enclosures or on mounting plates. These are designed to space the board away from anything that may cause it to short, or allow stacking of several boards. This particular standoff is made of aluminum and has a female 4/40 thread on each end. The “between board” height of this standoff is 3/8″.
