New Product Roundup – December 18th to January 7th

We are back with the first New Product Roundup of 2017! This week we have a bunch of new CNC parts, a new wireless multimeter, another type of pre-wired LED, and a simple seven segment display. These are just a taste of things to come – we plan to add a ton of new stuff over the coming weeks! Let’s dive in and get started:

T8 Brass Nut

By itself this nut isn’t exactly special, but when coupled with the lead screw below, it can be used to create a very strong linear motion from a rotating motor. It features an 8mm diameter x 2mm pitch threading and has 4 external mounting points for attaching the screw to the moveable portion of your project. Ideal for many CNC or motion typed projects.

8mm Stainless Steel Lead Screw – 500mm

Next we have a 500mm stainless steel lead screw. This lead screw is designed to work with our T8 Brass Nut and features the same 8x2mm square thread. As this lead screw is spun by a motor, the nut will slide up and down the screw. This method of positioning is much stronger (and resistant to slipping) than a GT2 timing belt setup – ideal for CNC router systems.

7-Segment Display 0.56″ – Red

7 Segment Displays are perfect for displaying numbers in a way that is bright and easy to read. The 7 Segment gets its name from the fact that it is made up of 7 led segments shaped to form an “8”. As different combinations of LEDs are turned on and off you can display every number from 0 – 9. The digit height is 14.3mm (0.56”) and the overall dimensions are 12.8 x 19.3mm (0.5 x 0.75”). The display is breadboard compatible and will slot right in across the middle of any standard breadboard.

8mm Chromed Linear Rail – 500mm

Continuing with our CNC theme: we also have 8mm chromed linear rail in 500mm lengths. These are compatible with all of our 8mm bearings, mounting blocks, and even our shaft couplers.

Pre-Wired 1.8mm Warm White LED

More pre-wired LEDs! These tiny 1.8mm Warm White LEDs are larger than our prewired SMD LEDs but still quite a bit smaller than most standard LEDs. Just like the SMD LEDs, these are pre-wired with two very fine wires – meaning these can be easily wired to any model boat, train, plane, car, spaceship or whatever else you may want to add tiny lights to. This specific version has a built in current limiting resistor and is designed to work with anywhere between 12 and 16V without additional circuitry.

Mooshimeter – Bluetooth Multimeter

The Mooshimeter is a multi-channel circuit testing multimeter that uses your smartphone or tablet, through Bluetooth 4.0, as a wireless, high-resolution graphical display. Each Mooshimeter is able to safely measure 600V at 10A with 24bit resolution from up to 150 feet away. The Mooshimeter is completely capable of being used in applications for sampling power, measuring impedance and current, detecting the temperature, and even tracking heart beats.
