New Product Roundup – November 13th to November 19th

Happy Saturday – we have another New Product Roundup this week! Just in time for the holiday season we have a couple highly sought after microcontrollers: The powerful Teensy 3.6 and the SparkFun ESP32 Thing. We also have a new product for finishing 3D prints, a new Adafruit NeoPixel Jewel, and an Audio Amp. On top of all that, we now have RGB strip light in 5 meter rolls!

NeoPixel Jewel – RGBW

The NeoPixel Jewel is back and better than before! This new version of the Adafruit Neopixel Jewel includes a separate Warm White channel in addition to the standard Red, Green, and Blue. This means even more color and illumination options!

LM386N Audio Amp

Not the most exciting product, but something we have been meaning to carry for quite some time. The LM386 is a small, low voltage, power amplifier used for audio applications. The amplifier is a single channel and will output up to 700mW with an 8 Ohm speaker. Perfect for building basic audio projects.

XTC-3D 3D Print Smoother

XTCā€‘3DĀ® is a brush on protective coating for smoothing and finishing 3D printed parts that does not melt plastic. The coating fills in 3D print striations and creates a smooth, high gloss finish and nearly eliminates the need for post-print finishing.

RGB LED Strip Light – 5M

This roll of RGB (Red, Green, Blue) LED Strip Light is 5 meters long and has 60 LEDs per meter. Both ends of this 5 meter roll have wires with connectors pre soldered so connecting is a breeze. Cut lines are spaced every 5cm so it can be cut very close to a desired length. The LEDs are protected by a thick, transparent, silicone jacket and the backing has double sided adhesive tape which makes installation quite easy.

SparkFun ESP32 Thing

The hotly anticipated and highly sought after SparkFun ESP32 Thing is a comprehensive development platform based on Espressifā€™s ESP-32 chipset, their super-charged version of the popular ESP8266. Like the 8266, the ESP-32 is a WiFi-compatible microcontroller, but to that it adds support for Bluetooth low-energy (i.e BLE, BT4.0, Bluetooth Smart), and nearly 30 I/O pins. The ESP32ā€™s power and versatility will make it the foundation of IoT and connected projects for many years to come.

Teensy 3.6

The Teensy is an ARM based microcontroller running at 180MHz with a boatload of features in a, well, teensy package. Each Teensy 3.6 comes pre-flashed with a bootloader so you can program it using the onboard USB connection; no external programmer needed! You can program for the Teensy in your favorite program editor using C or you can install the Teensyduino add-on for the Arduino IDE and write Arduino sketches for it!
