New Product Roundup – October 30th to November 5th

We roll out new products almost daily on the site so we thought it might be a good idea to wrap up everything that is new from the past week in one convenient place. Each Saturday we will post up a list of all the new items that have been added over the week – so be sure to stop by and check it out!

This week we have a little bit of everything – sensors, components, kits, and an Iot Device – so let’s get to it!

SparkFun Blynk Board – ESP8266

To start we have the SparkFun Blynk board based on the ESP8266 WiFi microcontroller. The Blynk platform is an easy to use app builder for Android 4.0 or higher and iDevices running iOS 7.0+ . This SparkFun Blynk board is specifically designed to work within the mobile app and makes creating your next IoT project a piece of cake!

NPN BC337 Transistor

Next, we have a very basic component: The BC337 Transistor. The BC337 is a BJT NPN transistor that can be used to drive higher current loads (up to 800mA). Best of all, can be used as a drop in replacement for the very popular 2n2222a transistor.

SparkFun 9 DOF Sensor Stick

The SparkFun 9DoF sensor Stick is an incredibly tiny 9 Degrees of Freedom IMU. The breakout uses a LSM9DS1 motion-sensing system-in-a-chip and features a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and 3-axis magnetometer. Each sensor in the LSM9DS1 supports a wide spectrum of ranges, configurable over the I2C interface.

5mm Blue LED – Basic

Unless you are really into the color blue, this is probably not the most exciting component. We now have a basic blue 5mm LED in stock. Just like our other 5mm basic LEDs, this is best suited for experimenting on a breadboard or a basic visual output.

SparkFun Beginner Parts Kit

Speaking of basic components, we now have the SparkFun Beginner Parts Kit in stock. This handy storage box comes with over 70 commonly used electronic bits and pieces including a selection of ceramic and electrolytic capacitors, transistors, diodes, regulators, LEDs, headers, and more! All components are through hole and will work with a solderless breadboard.

CR1220 Coin Cell Battery

Lastly, we have a CR1220 coin cell battery. To conform to the changing shipping regulations surrounding Lithium batteries, Adafruit has stopped including batteries with a variety of their shields and breakout boards. If you are looking at any of their GPS boards, RTCs, or data logging boards you will want to pick one of these little batteries up as well!
